Brassfabriken is a Swedish Balkan brass band from the city of Gothenburg. Brassfabriken plays party music according to gypsy tradition. The band was founded in 2001 and today it has ten musicians. The music is made for dancing and just cut out for a succesful night. Brassfabriken plays at parties (such as weddings and birthdays), conferences and in public at jazz clubs, world music clubs and festivals.

The repertory covers traditional party music from Balkan that has been known to the world by the famous films by Emir Kusturica, but also an interesting selection of melodies from other part os of the world as well as pieces composed by our own members, still in Balkan style.

The orchestra has an impressive setting which includes two trumpets, two saxophones, two horns, tuba, darbuka, davul and drums. This contributes to give the audience a fantastic experience of sound, rythm, musicality and visual effects. The musical origins of the members of Brassfabriken are widely differing, as are our ages - qualifications that have helped us to create a singular style. The energy is at top from beginning to end while the beautiful melodies and sensitive improvisations are full of feeling.

The Swedish word Brassfabriken means "factory of brass" and as the name suggests the orchestra is constantly creating and won't be satisfied with copies of others work. In short: we are a unique orchestra. Enjoy us!
